The bathrooms are not open 7 days a week. Very inconvenient as adults and even more so with kids. Thus the reason for two stars. The playground is small, not the park to visit for playground use compared to others in the area. The bridge on the playground is sketchy.
The paved, shaded walkway and cross city trail connection earned all the stars here. Great park to walk, run, or bike.
Beautiful maintained trails, gorgeous native species, and allowing the public to see the effects of climate change. Thank you for not forcibly filling those ponds and lakes.
The Event Center was the perfect place for a small ceremony of 15 people. The staff was extremely pleasant and went over and beyond from the very beginning. We did a site tour with Sara and she provided us with incredible insight and pertinent info that was helpful throughout the planning process. On the day of, Andy went out of his way to help make the space 100% and his team Hope & Lilly were wonderful to work with.
A wonderful park with pines, water, pavilions, and a paved 1.3 mile jogging path. There are also trails through the woods and a large visitor center with educational experiences. Lots of parking spots make for a great spot to go for a walk or short run from anywhere in Wilmington. As a bonus there are native carnivorous plants at various spots around the park.
Great little park to walk around. It has a 1.3 mile asphalt track around the perimeter of the park. Has a water stand for the dogs to drink water from. Also has interior dirt paths to hike if you want try those.
My husband has been cycling here for years, safely! I thank God he has given up on the cycling lanes in the city of Wilmington and has found a place to not only get great exercise but to become involved in a community. He knows over 100 people by name. He loves to introduce me to them and as a result they tell me how much he encourages them. We donated a bench on his 80th birthday, however we are still waiting for a plaque which he is frequently asked about! Andy, the director is doing a great job with limited staff. He gave me a bee hotel made by Eagle Scouts yesterday. We have many local bees who need a safe place to lay their eggs. This is why carpenter bees drill holes in our decks. We need to protect their population as it is quickly diminishing. Everyone knows how important they are to our survival. The one pictured is more a resort than just a hotel!
What a wonderful little gem of a park. Great facilities, great park staff, especially the Bee Hive staff and volunteers. Great little playground and nature area. Family friendly with clean restrooms and covered eating picnic seating. Definitely recommend for a fun family park afternoon.
Great place for a safe walk on either paved or flat paths. Stroller friendly and dog friendly too. The playground is a bit small given the available space, but there are two areas and benches near shade. Lovely flower gardens and nature markers.
